The Challenge
Conoscere la Natura is a project that captivated us from the very start, and still does. Paolo dedicated ten years of his life to traveling across Italy, producing 12 documentaries that deserve to be shared precisely because they’re “real” — the result of field exploration and filming, not desk research. A large body of content — 12 documentaries, over 190 documented species — needed a website able to organize it without diluting the editorial value and authenticity of the work, and to work in both Italian and English, for schools as well as general audiences.
The Solution
We built an Astro-powered portal designed around content discovery: a clear structure separating documentaries from species profiles, fast loading times despite heavy use of images and video, bilingual IT/EN content designed to work for both classroom use and general outreach, and an editorial layout that gives proper weight to the zoologists and naturalists behind the project. More recently, we also kicked off social media content planning, to carry the documentaries’ authenticity beyond the website.
The Result
A solid, browsable digital archive, built to accommodate future growth in content — new documentaries, new species — without losing clarity or speed. And a project that, after all these years, still fascinates us as much as it did on day one.
